b) Counselling Skills for the Workplace

Many people in the workplace play a key role in supporting and managing other employees.  A specific set of skills and personal qualities are required in order to help people cope with personal issues and stresses that may be impacting upon their emotional health, confidence, morale and performance at work.

Participants will learn how they can play a valuable part in counselling, mentoring and supporting people at work while maintaining professional boundaries.  To achieve this objective, a number of practical skills and interventions will be taught and applied to the workplace environment.

Training available on site at your workplace at times that suit you. Costs are based on individual program.

This program will cover:

  • Attending and reflective listening skills
  • Ways to identify issues correctly
  • Skills in helping staff manage their work and personal lives in more constructive ways
  • Assisting employees in managing stress about deadlines and performance issues
  • Developing a collaborative working relationship with the employee.

  • We undertake an investigation into aspirations, ambitions, competencies, values, and skills and collectively drive a program of significant items to work on
  • Our approach is both methodical and challenging  to allow for penetrative questioning of an individual’s business context and issues to ensure multiple options are considered
  • Programs follow an agreed agenda
  • Progress is reviewed regularly and results monitored against goals.
