TreatmentMedicareThe Federal Government has recognised the vast contribution psychology and psychotherapy make to health and wellbeing. In November 2006, the Government took a step which has been the goal of psychologists for 30 years. The Government approved health care benefits for patients and clients of psychologists. This is a major acknowledgement of the wider community need, expressed by people showing a preference for psychological therapeutic care and counselling delivered by psychologists. Cairnmillar does not charge the full Australian Psychological Society recommended fees, thus Medicare can rebate up to 75% of Cairnmillar's own counselling fees.
