Stress and Anxiety

Discover the benefits of stress reduction for a happy personal and work life.

The ability to relax and reduce stress and tension in our bodies and minds is an innate human skill, but so is the ability to become stressed. For this reason, relaxation needs to be practised if it is to be achieved in everyday life.

Relaxation training has been found to be beneficial in the treatment and management of a wide range of conditions such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, chronic pain, as well as anxiety and depression. In addition, it can be a supportive resource in times of crises, and has been shown to increase our general feelings of well-being.

In our individual and group programs participants will learn a variety of different types of relaxation techniques which can be practiced at home and adapted to a variety of settings including the workplace. Relaxation techniques that will be covered include:

  • Progressive muscle relaxation
  • Increasing awareness of breathing and other physical states the use of imagery to enhance relaxation

Participants in this course will have the opportunity to build upon and optimise their relaxation skills from week to week in a pleasant group atmosphere.
