Who We Are Our Staff Dr Christine Loft Associate Head of School (Partnerships) and Course Coordinator DClinPsy BSc(Hons) Christine completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University in the UK. She has further training in Narrative Attachment Therapy through the Institute of Family Therapy in London, UK. Since qualifying, Christine worked in the UK within public and private services for individuals diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities and within services for children, young people and families. Work within these services including supporting individual with a range of presentations and mental health issues, including eating disorders, mood disorders, long-term health conditions and neurodevelopmental conditions. Within her role as a Clinical Psychologist within the UK, Christine worked with a multi-disciplinary Autism Spectrum Condition assessment clinic for children and young people. Additionally, she worked within secondary education settings to provide therapeutic support and further education and training on mental health. Expertise Christine is experienced in working with people across the lifespan but has a particular interest in working therapeutically with children, young people and families, including in the perinatal period. Christine has training in a wide range of therapeutic modalities and aims to adapt her approach to the individual’s needs, with focus on Mindfulness, CBT, systemic and narrative attachment. Research Interests Whilst in Australia, Christine also has experience of working in research into perinatal depression and reducing recidivism in serious offending behaviour. Other research interests include coping and mixed methods. Christine has experience delivering education and training, professional supervision of Psychologists within the UK, a role that she enjoyed. She is in the process of gaining her Board Approved Supervisor status to continue with this in Australia.
