Educational and Developmental Psychologist

Kate has worked with children, families and schools as a psychologist since 2003 after finishing her studies in educational and developmental psychology at Monash University in 2002. She worked for the Victorian Education Department for 13 years following her training, initially in Shepparton for two years, before returning to Melbourne to work for Student Support Services (SSS) in North East Metropolitan Melbourne. In this role she supported teachers, students and their families in primary, secondary and a number of special schools for children with disabilities. Her role encompassed psychoeducational assessment for various neurodevelopmental disorders, funding applications, student support and school liaison as well as responding to critical incidents.

Kate was a member of the regional Critical Incident Team for a number of years, and has an extensive understanding of the public education system, the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD) and broader government policy issues, having also worked as a Professional Practice Leader (PPL) at North East Regional office.
