Dress code and regalia

Graduation is a formal event. The dress code is formal attire and students are encouraged to dress appropriately. If you are not wearing buttons or tie, then a safety pin or similar will be provided in order to attach your robe’s hood (Master degrees only). There are steep stairs to and from the stage, we recommend flat shoes with a closed toe.

Graduation regalia will be provided. Students will be asked to sign for their robes which must be returned after the ceremony to avoid incurring a replacement cost.

More information about the academic regalia for each degree program can be found here: https://my.cairnmillar.edu.au/knowledgebase/graduation-regalia/

If you select that you are attending the ceremony you will be asked to give a pronunciation guide for how we should read out your full name. Please do not just write your name in the ‘pronunciation’ field on your ticket.

Normally a pronunciation guide would space out the syllables with hyphens, you can also capitalise a syllable if it needs more emphasis. For example, the pronunciation guide for ‘Saphron Hastie’ is: Saff-ron HAY-stee.
