This unit focuses on developing advanced knowledge and skills required for the ethical practice of clinical psychology. Topics include ethical, legal and professional considerations, an introduction to diagnostic taxonomies, cultural considerations in clinical assessment and treatment, theoretical models of conceptualisation and treatment from various paradigms, psychopharmacology, communication to different audiences including using social media, developments in interprofessional learning and the use of technology in clinical practice, and issues relating to fitness-for-practice including the role of supervision, self-care, reflective practice, management and leadership.
