This unit provides a comprehensive understanding of attachment and other relevant theories in child development, and the biopsychosocial factors that influence development in the early years. In addition, students will explore the different assessments used to explain typical and divergent behaviours in children, and how these assessments can be used to inform practice. Students will be introduced to interviewing, history taking, case conceptualisation, and report writing when working with children, and some of the common therapies used when working with children.
