Professional Recognition The Cairnmillar Institute is applying for accreditation of the Bachelor of Psychology and Counselling with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). If successful in obtaining these accreditations, then upon graduation, students will be able to work professionally as a counsellor. If successful in obtaining both of these accreditations, then upon graduation, students will be able to: Work professionally as a counsellor. If APAC accreditation is successful, this course will fulfil the first three years of the six year journey towards becoming a Psychologist. Apply for APAC accredited fourth year psychology programs (e.g., Honours) Apply for PACFA or ACA accredited Graduate Diploma and many Masters counselling programs Apply for PACFA membership to gain registration as a counsellor. The course is a Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) accredited program.
