The Bachelor of Psychology and Counselling intends to include an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited undergraduate major sequence in psychology, and a Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) accredited major in counselling and psychotherapy. If successful in obtaining these accreditations, then upon graduation, students will be able to work professionally as a counsellor. If APAC accreditation is successful, this course will fulfil the first three years of the six year journey towards becoming a Psychologist.

The course is a Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) accredited program.

On completion of the course, graduate will be eligible to:

  • Apply for APAC accredited fourth year psychology programs (e.g., Honours)
  • Apply for PACFA or ACA accredited Graduate Diploma and many Masters counselling programs
  • Apply for PACFA membership to gain registration as a counsellor.
