Professional Recognition The Bachelor of Psychology and Counselling intends to include an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited undergraduate major sequence in psychology, and a Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) accredited major in counselling and psychotherapy. If successful in obtaining these accreditations, then upon graduation, students will be able to work professionally as a counsellor. If APAC accreditation is successful, this course will fulfil the first three years of the six year journey towards becoming a Psychologist. The course is a Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) accredited program. On completion of the course, graduate will be eligible to: Apply for APAC accredited fourth year psychology programs (e.g., Honours) Apply for PACFA or ACA accredited Graduate Diploma and many Masters counselling programs Apply for PACFA membership to gain registration as a counsellor.
