This unit will provide an in-depth account of the major paradigmatic approaches relating to human development. The unit will cover physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development across the human lifespan. As well, it will further discuss methodologies used to address these questions, and the translational aspects of such findings. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the theories through case studies critically examining how existing theories apply within domains such as educational design, positive behavioural prevention and interventions for school children, parenting, and healthy aging.
