Why Be Anxious?
Feeling anxious is an experience reported by many people and any one person can feel anxious at some point in life. An experience of anxiety can range from being a mild feeling of discomfort to an intense emotion of fear or distress, which interferes with day to day life.
This workshop is conducted with the aim of giving people the opportunity to learn how to manage their anxieties and how to overcome them.
Topics to be covered:
- What anxieties are present and which one is the core anxiety;What strengths,
- What strengths, resources and self-management skills are needed and how to utilise them; The individual is given the insight and skills to exercise a choice and some control of their experience, feelings and thoughts.
About the presenter:
Ms Julijana Chochovski

Ms Julijana Chochovski is a registered psychologist with specialist training in working with individual adult clients. Ms Chochovski has many years of experience in both the public and private sectors. In her clinical work she takes an integrative psychotherapeutic approach based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapy principles. Educated at Monash University and The Cairnmillar Institute, she has developed an interest in working with older adults and the psychological issues associated with the ageing process through Cairnmillar’s Successful Ageing Growth and Enhancement (SAGE) program. Ms Chochovski facilitates a number of personal and professional development courses offered at Cairnmillar.
