Michael’s approach is client-centred, which means he tailors his approach and therapy to suit the individual needs of his patients. He is by nature non-judgmental, warm and caring, and is passionate about helping his patients to live the lives that they want to. Michael strives for a relaxed and informal tone in sessions and works toward making each session feel conversational but still therapeutic.

Background and Experience
Michael has experience working with a wide variety of clients in both urban and rural areas, and in both public and private settings. He completed his PhD in clinical psychology and his research interests are in gender, and how gender can shape identity. He is especially interested in working with clients with anxiety and is successful in helping alleviate the harsh expectations, perfectionism, and fear that characterise many anxiety-based issues.
Michael also teaches in aspects of professional and clinical practice and is currently the Course Chair of the Doctor of Psychology (Clinical Psychology) program at the Cairnmillar Institute.
