About
Dr Karen Hendricks is a clinical psychologist who has worked with clients in a broad range of settings including public mental health, psycho-oncology, and private practice. Karen has a particular interest in personality functioning and the impact of trauma. After completing her doctoral thesis at The University of Melbourne in 2005, Karen worked in both inpatient and community psychiatric settings at The Alfred. Here, Karen worked as a senior psychologist, coordinating the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy program for individuals living with borderline personality disorder and supervising postgraduate psychology students.
Karen has also held a clinical-research role in the field of psycho-oncology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where she was involved in group therapy programs for men recovering from prostate cancer treatment. Karen has a keen interest in the training of psychologists, having worked as a professional advisor for the Psychology Board of Australia/AHPRA. More recently, Karen has applied her interest in the education sector through coordinating placements for postgraduate psychology training programs and supervising psychologists training in clinical psychology programs.
