Treatment Approaches

Matthew employs a blended approach in his treatment methods, and as a result, each client’s treatment plan is unique and tailored to their specific needs. Matthew incorporates various evidence-based therapy styles into his practice, specifically CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy).

About

Matthew Nissenbaum is a provisional psychologist who has experience working with children and adults. He is passionate about working with clients from diverse backgrounds and is particularly interested in a variety of presenting issues, including (but not limited to) depression, generalised anxiety, and social anxiety. He has experience working previously in a school and currently works in private practice and a community clinic.

Matthew believes it is important to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with his clients, and to provide a space where they feel comfortable, supported, and understood. His approach to therapy and treatment is dynamic and will uniquely cater to his clients.

Outside of work, he thoroughly enjoys spending time with his plants, exercising, and catching up with family and friends.
