About Tanya

Tanya is passionate about the psychology of health and wellbeing across the lifespan. She works with individuals and couples to support their personal growth and help them to create more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Tanya works with individuals and couples experiencing the following difficulties:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Stress
  • Parenting stress
  • Relationship issues
  • Ageing and End of life
  • Grief and loss
  • Fertility, infertility, miscarriage, and termination
  • Cancer and other chronic health conditions
  • Functional bowel disorders (such as IBS) and coeliac disease.

Tanya utilises the following approaches to treatment:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Narrative and life review therapies

 

 

Background and Experience

Tanya is a health psychologist with a broad range of professional interests. She has experience working with adults of all ages in healthcare settings, and adopts a range of approaches to her psychological practice. She has co- authored three peer reviewed publications, and conducted research on parenting stress during her postgraduate psychology studies at the Cairnmillar Institute. She is a Board-approved supervisor and guest lecturer in the area of psychology and ageing for postgraduate students at Cairnmillar. She is also a fertility counsellor with the Fertility Society of Australia (FSA).
