Fully funded programs
Following the success of the previous G‑PIP program, we are pleased to announce that Cairnmillar Institute has been awarded renewed funding under a new three-year federal grant. Designed to support provisional psychologists undertaking the 5+1 Internship pathway this expanded funding will support up to 600 internships nationally, significantly increasing access to training opportunities while maintaining strong support for priority mental health areas. Building on our experience delivering the program, this expanded phase will support a significantly larger number of placements and continue to strengthen pathways for provisional psychologists into the workforce.
We are now offering a supportive and free Graduate Psychology Internship Program, which we are calling our “G-PIP”. This program is available to all participants who have successfully completed an APAC accredited fifth year course in psychology from any Australian university or higher education provider.
As part of previous funding by Australian Government’s Department of Health and Aged Care we continue to provide 1000 training places for qualified psychologists who want to become supervisors. This support will help us continue our mission to grow Australia’s mental health workforce and ensure more people can access the care they need.
Our Psychology Board of Australia-approved Supervisor training course delivers all components for registered psychologists to become supervisors.
Following many years of successful provision of supervision and supervision training – we are now able to offer free Supervisor Foundation Training for registered psychologists until 2027.

This is a one-day workshop suitable for Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisors wishing to maintain their supervisor status, and seeking to update their supervisor skills.
Following many years of successful provision of supervision and supervision training – we are now able to offer free Master Class refresher training for registered psychologists until 2027.
