About

Julia initially trained and worked as a teacher in the UK before moving into the field of psychology.
Julia completed her doctorate in educational and child psychology at University College, London (UCL) in 2011. Her doctoral thesis explored the experience of marginalised (named ‘hard to reach’ at the time) families in accessing support services. She moved to Australia over 10 years ago and has worked in private practice and the university sector since that time.
Julia supports clients in exploring their neurotype through assessments (including learning disorders, autism and ADHD) in the Cairnmillar Assessment Clinic. She also works in private practice with a focus on therapy. Julia is chair of the Australian Association of Psychologists incorporated (AAPi) Neurodiversity Affirming Practice interest group.
