Professor Kathryn von Treuer

CEO & Provost

Professor Kathryn von Treuer (FAPS) is the 2nd and current Chief Executive Officer and Provost of the Cairnmillar Institute, at which she commenced in 2016. She is an endorsed health and organisational psychologist with postgraduate qualifications in psychology, business and education. With 20 years of industry experience,  Kathryn’s reputation in leading and improving the quality of education is well established. Her research into teaching scholarship has informed the learning and evaluation of training programs spanning several domains, including aged care. Kathryn has been the Course Chair of the Master of Organisational Psychology at Deakin University.

The Council is the Institue’s governing body and is responsible for acting on the Institute’s behalf to promote its objectives and interests.

Professor Frank Oberklaid AM

Chief Patron

Professor Frank Oberklaid AM was the Foundation Director of the Centre for Community Child Health for over 25 years. He is currently Co-Group Leader of Child Health Policy and Equity at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, Director the Centre’s Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS) program and an Honorary Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne. Professor Oberklaid is an internationally recognised researcher, author, lecturer and consultant, and has written two books and over 200 scientific publications on various aspects of paediatrics. He was appointed as Cairnmillar’s Chief Patron in August 2024 (by the Council).
