Erica Vowles

Clinical Expertise

Erica has experience as a crisis support counsellor, and she has worked with people experiencing low mood, depression, stress and relationship difficulties. She is expanding her mental health skillset as she undertakes postgraduate clinical psychology training. Erica has an interest in gaining expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy as well as other therapeutic approaches.

Erica enables clients to feel safe and understood, so that she and the client can work together to address areas of difficulty in the client’s life, as well as appreciate their strengths.

About

Erica worked for more than two decades as a journalist, where she used her interviewing and listening skills to help people understand themselves and their stories better. Erica is open to working collaboratively with clients from a range of different cultural backgrounds and genders. A growing area of interest for Erica is the use of compassion in therapeutic work with clients, and she is also interested in working with clients experiencing grief and substance-use issues.
