The Joy of Being Human: Reclaiming Spiritual and Mental Wellbeing in the age of AI 2026

November 12 @ 10:30 am - November 13 @ 10:30 am

The Joy of Being Human: Reclaiming Spiritual and Mental Wellbeing in the age of AI

In an age when artificial intelligence promises efficiency, optimisation, and flawless performance, many of us feel quietly exhausted by the pressure to be more than human. Drawing on decades of pastoral care, counselling and spiritual direction, stories from hospital rooms and ordinary life, and insights from his forthcoming book The Joy of Being Human: Finding Meaning in the Messiness of Our Lives, Dr Koski explores where spirituality and psychology meet in the work of healing. This presentation considers how grief, joy, presence, and imperfection are not problems to be solved but essential parts of human wholeness. Participants will leave with fresh language and practices for nurturing spiritual and mental wellbeing in themselves and in those they serve.

Support The Big Tent Project

You are welcome to donate to The Big Tent Project, a Cairnmillar initiative that strengthens the early childhood sector by supporting professionals who work with complex and vulnerable families. Through education, reflection and professional support, the project helps build a more resilient workforce equipped to better support children and families in our communities.
Every donation helps support the professionals who work every day with vulnerable children and families. Together, we can strengthen the wellbeing, resilience and sustainability of the early childhood workforce and create lasting positive outcomes for the communities they serve.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our many individual donors, supporters and partner organisations whose generosity makes this work possible.
