About
Dr Paul Jenkinson is an Associate Professor at The Cairnmillar Institute (Melbourne), and an honorary Researcher/Associate Professor at University College London (UK). His research is dedicated to advancing the understanding of human behaviour through the integrated study of the brain and body, and their interactions with the physical and social world (i.e., embodied neuroscience). Recognising the inseparability of these elements, his interdisciplinary work explores the interaction between the mind/brain, body and environment in healthy individuals and people with various clinical conditions (e.g. stroke, eating disorders). His research uses a range of methods including experimental psychology and neuropsychology; multi-sensory illusions; social, cognitive and affective neuroscience; meta-analyses; and computational modelling. The main goal of this work is to identify how the body contributes to the everyday experiences of healthy people, and to translate these insights into new ways of understanding and improving the treatment of people with clinical conditions.
