About

Dr Terence Bartholomew is the Coordinator of the Master of Professional Psychology Program and teaches across all CMI postgraduate psychology courses. His research interests include psycho-legal areas, addiction, creativity / musicality, and the predictors of treatment success.

Terry has been a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, Deakin University, and the University of the West Indies, where he has coordinated Doctoral, Masters and Fourth year psychology programs. His book on social welfare policy in Australia went to third edition and was a prescribed text in numerous Australian graduate courses for almost a decade. He has also published more than 25 book chapters and articles, presented more than 60 papers at national and international conferences, and been on the Editorial Board of numerous journals (including ‘Psychiatry, Psychology and Law’ and ‘the Journal of Interpersonal Violence’).

Terry was also a member of the Victorian Department of Justice Reference group that contributed to the re-drafting of Victorian legislation relating to family violence; he is a recipient of an Australian Violence Prevention Award for his work designing and delivering intervention programs for violent men; and his multi-disciplinary research team produced the medico-legal Guidelines relating to young people’s rights in health care settings for Victorian General Practitioners.
