About

John is a unit coordinator teaching into the Bachelor of Psychology and Counselling at The Cairnmillar Institute. He is an experienced clinician practicing in the Positive Behaviour Support and Applied Behaviour Analysis spaces, working with clients and stakeholders in managing behaviours, reducing restrictive practices, and capacity-building interventions. He brings extensive clinical experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner working with clients ranging from 3 to 75 years of age diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders and/or psychosocial disabilities.

John has worked in both government and non-government sectors. Notably, he has been a key member of the Behaviour Support Team at the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission auditing behaviour support plans. The findings of the audit contributed to government research aimed at improving quality of life interventions for clients and projects to further train practitioners on restrictive practice reduction. His area of expertise is in early intervention of children with autism with PDA (pathological demand avoidance) subtype.
