Clinical Expertise

Kate is in her second year of the Master of Psychology (Clinical) Program, previously undertaking her first placement in a primary school setting. Whilst navigating the multidisciplinary school setting, Kate gained experience with presentations such as anxiety, depression, bullying, parenting and behavioural challenges and self-esteem concerns. Kate has a particular interest in working with adolescents and adults.

Treatment Approaches

Kate tailors her therapeutic approach based on the needs of the client, drawing from evidence-based frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

About

Kate has experience working with anxiety and mood disorders. Through undertaking placement in a school environment, Kate also has experience supporting both young people and parents with self-esteem challenges, bullying, trauma and relationship difficulties.

Kate has worked in the mental health sector in various roles for 7 years, with prior experiences at Headspace, Lifeline, as a Mental Health support worker. Currently, Kate is conducting research to investigate predictors of emotional responsibility, to understand how to enhance emotional wellbeing. Kate previously studied self-efficacy and collective efficacy, and how these variables can influence behaviour change.
