I provide supervision for provisional psychologists and registrars. I provide psychological assessment and interventions to adults experiencing a wide variety of clinical presentations, especially:

  • Complex trauma and post-traumatic stress
  • Anxiety disorders, including OCD and panic
  • Depression and low self-worth
  • Relationship difficulties and attachment issues

About

Michael Gate is a Clinical Psychologist and Advanced Certified Schema Therapist with over 12 years of experience working with adults across a range of settings. He has particular expertise in Schema Therapy, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. Michael is passionate about helping clients understand and shift long-standing patterns, develop emotional resilience, and build more fulfilling connections.

In addition to his clinical work, Michael is a Board-Approved Supervisor and provides supervision for provisional psychologists and registrars, supporting their development within a competency-based framework. He brings a warm, collaborative, and structured approach to therapy and supervision. Michael is a member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) and has served on the board of directors for a national charity supporting individuals with rare skin conditions. He is committed to continuous learning and contributes to the field through professional development, training, and leadership roles.
