Sophie Tendler

Clinical Expertise

Sophie has a strong interest in obsessive-compulsive disorder, which she is currently examining from a cognitive perspective as part of her doctoral research. She also has a particular interest in supporting individuals who have experienced sexual trauma.

Treatment Approaches

Sophie views therapy as a reflective process in which clients are supported to build insight and understanding into their concerns, while discussing and reviewing goals during this time together.

About

Sophie draws on years of experience in community mental health settings, including residential and sub-acute services. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan presenting with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, addiction, eating disorders, and neurodevelopmental differences. Most recently, Sophie has undertaken work in a school setting with primary school–aged clients. Across these roles, her work has involved collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, crisis intervention, therapeutic support, and cognitive assessment, supporting a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to care.
