If you indicated the presence of a disability, impairment or long-term condition, please select the area(s) in the following:

Education

What year is your highest COMPLETED school level? (Tick one box only)
If you are currently enrolled in secondary education, the highest school to be selected is the highest level you have completed, not the level you are currently undertaking. For example, if you are currently in year 10, the highest school year completed is Year 9.
Are you still enrolled in secondary or senior secondary education?
Have you SUCCESSFULLY completed any of the qualifications listed?
Those who have not completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification, will be required to complete a language and numeracy test prior to commencement of the course.
Have you undertaken any courses at Cairnmillar?

For casual, seasonal, contract and shift work, use the current number of hours worked per week to determine whether full time (35 hours or more per week) or part-time employed (less than 35 hours per week).

Study Preference

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Students studying in Australia must have a USI if they are: (a) studying nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET), (b) seeking a HELP loan or Commonwealth Supported Place, and/or (c) graduating in 2023 or beyond. International students who are completing all of their study outside of Australia do not need a USI. From 1 January 2015, the Cairnmillar Institute can be prevented from issuing you with a nationally recognised VET qualification or statement of attainment when you complete your course if you do not have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). In addition, we are required to include your USI in the data we submit to NCVER. If you have not yet obtained a USI you can apply for it directly at https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-your-usi/ on computer or mobile device.

Terms and Conditions

Cairnmillar reserves the right to alter any of the published arrangements, either before or during a course or to cancel, substitute or terminate a course where necessary.

Cairnmillar reserves the right to terminate a person’s participation in a course:

If the course is deemed to be beyond his or her ability.
If the person is being disruptive in class.
If the student breaches the Institute’s privacy and ethical standards.
If the student does not abide by the Institute’s rules.

Fees
To secure your place in any of our events of professional development courses, a completed enrolment/application form and full payment must be received upon enrolment or prior to course commencement. Payments cannot be made on the day of the workshop.

Our programs attract concession discounts for health care card holders, pensioners, full‐time students and people receiving benefits. Those applying for concessions must provide a copy of their student card, social security card, or health care card together with their application when enrolling.

Withdrawal and Refund Conditions
Each term or teaching period will have a ‘withdrawal date’ which is the last date at which you can withdraw from a module or unit without academic or financial penalty. If you withdraw prior to the withdrawal date then all fees paid for that module enrolment will be refunded. The withdrawal date is normally the end of the first week of classes, but may be later for the first term of a course.
If you withdraw after the withdrawal date then the fees for that enrolment period will not be refunded and an incomplete ‘late withdraw fail’ result will be recorded against the module and units. Any future enrolment periods for that course will be withdrawn and invoices will not be levelled for those future enrolments.
Completed units will not be refunded.

Statutory Cooling Off Period
Because Cairnmillar policy prohibits direct selling or external enrolment marketing, and our enrolment cut-off date is more than 10 days prior to the formal withdrawal date, it is unlikely that statutory cooling off periods will apply. Students will not normally be allowed to enrol fewer than 10 days before the formal ‘withdrawal date’.
However, exceptions are sometimes made (e.g. special approval to enrol late). In such a situation, you will have at least 10 working days from your official enrolment date in which you can still withdraw without academic or financial penalty.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Bunurong Peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which The Cairnmillar Institute is located, and we pay our respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging. We also extend these respects to any First Nations peoples engaging with these materials, and our services

Sometimes in life there’s lots of things goin’ on that can be hard and trying, or easy and happy, but my artwork gives me strength to see out the bad times. This is my Country before colonisation. The lines are like a map representing how our people shaped the Country with their spiritual connections told in songs and stories. The blue water and the red oxide land show my journey line with places I’ve stopped along the way. The small linear patches of dots are all the different mobs and families around Country. The brown patterns and shapes are mountain ridges and waterholes representing time past. The diamond patterns are from patterns on our old shields. Their colours represent connection to culture and the red dirt and many coloured sands that make up our beautiful Country. The group of Elders sitting with their spears are telling stories of Bunjil the eagle, our Creator, and passing down their knowledge of tracking and hunting. The goannas are my Ancestors watching, mesmerised, over their Country and culture.
